Tommy’s Brings US Wakesurf Open to Grand Rapids
Surf’s Up at Millennium Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan this August 10-12 for Tommy’s US Wakesurf Open, presented by Malibu Boats. This international competition will feature riders from many countries such as Portugal, Brazil, and France, along with Malibu riders Stacia Bank and Cassidy Gale all competing for $20,000 in cash prizes, trophies, and more. There will be a pro surf and pro skim division for all to watch these experts trick out.
On a clear lake with beach front viewing just feet away from the competitors, Millennium Park was made popular hosting events like ESPN X Games and the King of Wake. The Park also provides a dozen sprayers, buckets, splashers and other water features that promise fun for the whole family all day. There will be food trucks, a Red Bull DJ, and once the competition is over there will be an “open to ride” time where anyone can learn how to wakesurf behind premium wakesurf Malibu Boat M235. Spectators can watch the action for free on the shore or pay for the VIP experience and watch from the seat of the official competition Malibu Boat M235. VIPs will also get a special gift bag full of Tommy's swag, and a three-day pass for free entry.
For those who haven’t had a chance to hang ten yet, wake surfing has become a sensation for the past couple of years. The sport was revolutionized by Malibu’s surf technology, Surf Gate®, which became part of a more innovative surf system, Integrated Surf Platform™, to make a fully customizable and bigger surf wave.
This competition is a qualifier for the World Wakesurf Championship, so come on out to cheer on your favorite surfer! For more information, visit Tommy's Grand Rapids.
